A city staff member told the City of Conway Community Appearance Board that the city is organizing a steering committee to guide its comprehensive plan and that staff may reach out to board members to participate.
The staff member described the comprehensive plan as a long-range planning document that catalogs current conditions and sets future goals across several topic areas. The presentation said the plan has about eight chapters covering subjects such as housing, economic development and natural resources; staff said the effort is currently in a data-collection stage and that public forums will be held to gather community input.
When asked about timing, the staff member said the comprehensive plan is a multi-year project with a target completion of 2028 or 2029. Board members responded that they would like to be involved and encouraged staff to follow up by email in the coming weeks.
Staff did not provide a specific schedule of steering-committee meeting dates or a formal roster at the meeting. The next steps identified were outreach to potential steering committee members and continued data collection for plan drafting.
