At its June 9, 2026 meeting, the Broadwater County Planning Board approved the November 25, 2025 minutes and elected its officers for the coming year.
Members nominated and voted to retain Ed Shindall as chair and Dallas Steel as vice chair for one‑year terms. The motions were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote; no roll call tallies were recorded.
The board conducted its annual review of bylaws. No substantive amendments were proposed; staff said it would reformat the bylaws for chair and commissioners' signatures and bring the document to the next meeting. Members asked whether commissioners sign the bylaws and staff said the chair signs first and the commissioners may add signatures as part of ministerial administrative processing.
Staff also provided the planning board with the clean, adopted copy of the updated Broadwater County subdivision regulations (adopted by the county commissioners on April 15, 2026) and noted that supplemental materials would be presented to the commissioners on June 17; the board will receive the adopted supplements after that meeting.
There was no substantive public comment on other agenda items and the board adjourned after setting the next meeting date as to be determined. The board discussed scheduling an additional meeting to continue review of the Western Montana Estates subdivision application before the county commissioners' July schedule.
