At its June 5 meeting the Centre County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of consent-agenda additions and contract renewals covering corrections equipment, fleet replacements, accessibility software and human-services grants.
Glenn presented a co-stars contract with Watkins Security LLC to replace interior and exterior cameras at the Centre County Correctional Facility; the contract total recorded on the agenda was $131,885.20. Commissioners voted to add that contract to next week’s consent agenda and approved the consent agenda at the end of the meeting.
The board also approved purchases through a county co-stars process for 2026 Chevrolet Tahoes to replace aging transport vehicles: one for corrections (to replace older vehicles retired from service) and a second for the Domestic Relations department. Presenters said state approval allows the domestic relations office to use federal funds and that the Domestic Relations office will reimburse the county for that vehicle; proceeds from sale of the replaced vehicle will return to the program account.
Chad introduced a one-year contract with Optimal Solutions Group LLC to provide automated website scanning and quality assurance for ADA compliance at a quoted one-year cost of $2,888; presenters said the replacement vendor will save the county roughly $10,000 per year compared with the previous product. Julie presented renewals and augmentations for human-services providers: a $334,416 renewal with the Centre County Youth Service Bureau for drug and alcohol services (county match $15,417); $30,000 additional funding for Service Access and Management Inc. under a first-episode psychosis grant; and $5,000 additional funding for Kids First early intervention (raising the provider cap from $30,000 to $35,000). Brandy presented a multi-year lease renewal for the Penns Valley Senior Center with monthly rates listed for FY 2026–29.
Commissioners approved adding these items to next week’s consent agenda and approved the week's consent agenda and check run (check run dated June 5 was approved). The board highlighted ongoing work on a public safety training center design and said the project should be bid later in the summer. Motions were carried by voice vote; the transcript does not include roll-call tallies for these votes.
