Rye Brook — At its June 9 meeting, the Rye Brook Board of Trustees approved multiple procedural resolutions: committee appointments, a recommendation to the Town of Rye Board of Assessment Review, and the declaration of various municipal items as surplus.
The board appointed Aisha Niagra to the Sustainability Committee through April 2029 and recommended Paul Rosenberg as the Rye Brook representative to the Town Board of Assessment Review to fill the unexpired term of Joan Feinstein; the town board must concur with that appointment. Trustees also appointed Anthony Sumela to the Airport Advisory Council for a term ending April 2028. The board thanked outgoing volunteers Joan Feinstein and Neth Robbot for their service.
Under Resolution 2, trustees declared assorted fire-rescue equipment surplus — including Scott air packs, face pieces, generators, Hurst cutters and spreaders, turnout gear, ventilation fans, boots and airbags — and authorized auction sale via an approved electronic bidding process; staff noted some items will be held temporarily to allow potential trade‑in with equipment dealers.
Minutes approvals were corrected (the record reflects approval of March 10 and April 14, 2026 minutes after verifying the backup materials) and the board approved the corrected resolution.
Next steps: Staff will list surplus items in the official newspaper and process any trade‑in opportunities; the village will forward the recommended BAR appointment to the Town of Rye for concurrence.
