Lzette Santiago presented two special‑event sponsorship requests from the Serosis Club and the council voted to approve both on June 9.
Santiago described the Summer Splash Bash, scheduled for Aug. 1 at Veterans Memorial Park with inflatables, water activities and giveaways, and said the organization expects about 250 attendees. The Serosis Club requested $320 in in‑kind services (parks and maintenance, pavilion rental with electric, special event fee and sign permit fee); the sponsorship committee recommended approval.
For a Haunted House fundraiser scheduled Oct. 22–31 at 222 University Avenue, Santiago said the club expects about 1,700 total attendees across event dates and requested $235 in in‑kind services to support park/permit needs; the sponsorship committee recommended approval for that request as well. Council moved and approved both sponsorship requests with no public opposition recorded during the vote.
Staff will coordinate permits and parks/maintenance support for the events under the approved in‑kind service values.
