The Richland County Board of Commissioners approved three disciplinary actions involving employees at Daypring following an executive session Tuesday.
Commissioner Cliff Mesa asked the board for a motion to approve the personnel actions after the board met in executive session to consider employee discipline. The measures, read into the public record by Mesa, included a five-day suspension for an employee who reached a fifth violation of unsatisfactory work; an 11-day working suspension for an employee with two no-show violations; and termination for an employee with multiple group violations, described as third-, fourth- and fifth-level offenses.
The board moved and seconded the measures and recorded affirmative votes from the commissioners present. The board reconvened in public at 10:09 a.m. and then finalized the disciplinary approvals.
The action followed a recess and executive-session discussion on employee discipline announced at 9:34 a.m. The agenda item did not include additional public testimony. The board did not provide further detail in the public record about the names of the employees or the underlying incidents beyond the violation levels and penalties announced.
The board adjourned shortly after completing new-business items.
