Putnam County commissioners on June 9 issued a formal proclamation recognizing Eagle Research’s 50th anniversary and declaring June 12, 2026 as "Eagle Research Day" in Putnam County.
The proclamation, read by the presiding officer, described Eagle Research as a Hurricane‑based manufacturer that employs more than 60 electrical, software and mechanical engineers and technicians and supplies flow computers, volume correctors and other measurement equipment across the United States and in roughly 20 countries. It noted the company’s certification as a woman‑owned small business by the U.S. Small Business Administration in January 2025.
Francis Butch, identified in the meeting as president and CEO of Eagle Research, and Tashar Shaw, identified as senior director of business and development, joined the commission at the front of the courtroom for a photo and brief remarks. "Thank you," Francis Butch said after the proclamation and the commissioners congratulated the firm for its long service to the county.
The proclamation encourages residents to support small businesses on June 12 and throughout the year; Eagle Research plans an open house on Friday, June 12, as noted in the proclamation.
The proclamation was entered into the record and the commission moved on to other agenda items following the recognition.
