Putnam County Commission appoints new members to several county boards

After conducting board interviews in executive session, the Putnam County Commission at its June 9 meeting approved multiple appointments to county boards and a motion authorizing signature authority on fiduciary paperwork.

The commission appointed James Ripto to the Putnam County Animal Shelter Board with a term effective June 9, 2026 and set to expire Aug. 31, 2027. Cynthia McIll was appointed to the Putnam County Tourism Board effective June 9, 2026, with a term expiring June 30, 2029. The commission also appointed James Asbury, Adalfo Torres and Casey Arthur to the Putnam County Development Authority Board; the motions recorded effective dates and staggered expirations in the motion language (effective dates noted as June 9 or July 1, 2026 and terms through 2027–2029 as read aloud).

Earlier in the meeting, commissioners also approved motions authorizing the acting president to sign an estate settlement and fiduciary orders that required judicial direction and separately authorized all three commissioners to sign a related fiduciary order.

Each appointment was made by motion, second and voice vote; the clerk will process the paperwork and enter the orders into the county records.
