Council approves tax-abatement agreement with MNR Texas Holdings for housing infill

Staff presented a request from MNR Texas Holdings LLC under the city's "five-and-five" housing-infill program to develop multiple infill parcels as single-family homes. Mr. Almensa summarized that the application had completed required postings and that one parcel (609 East Garrett) was withdrawn at the applicant's request, reducing the scope to eight homes. He said the development budget is about $1.5 million.

Council moved and voted to approve the residential tax-abatement and economic-development agreement and related transfers of city trustee properties; the motion carried 5-0. Council members expressed general support for the program as a means to encourage infill housing.
