Kossuth County canvasses June 2 primary results, certifies nominees

The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors convened as the county canvassers on June 9 and certified vote totals from the June 2, 2026 primary election.

Auditor staff read the abstract of votes precinct totals for statewide offices and county contests by party. The board certified nominees including Todd M. Holmes for county attorney (Republican), Karen M. Ben Scooter for county recorder (Republican), Constance A. Lewig for county treasurer (Republican) and Laney Mitchell (Democrat) for county supervisor District 1, among other results.

The board approved the abstract of votes by motion and roll call and then approved election claims submitted for payment. There were a number of races where no candidate of a party was nominated for the general election; staff recorded those vacancies in the canvass record. The board adjourned following signature of canvass documents.

The certified abstract will be filed with the county clerk and the Secretary of State as required.
