The Mills County Board of Supervisors approved routine business and a package of small-budget items during its meeting, including liquor-license renewals, a $10,000 allocation to Golden Hills and a $6,000 contribution to the regional rural transit system.
The board moved and approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from the May 26, 2026 meeting, the treasurer’s report, jail and permits reports, recorder materials and accounts payable. The board then approved an annual renewal for the Bellator Class C retail alcohol license and a five-day special Class C license for Best Farms Hospitality LLC for a festival on June 28.
On funding, supervisors approved a motion to allocate $10,000 from local option sales tax community betterment funds to Golden Hills for FY2027 after the agency requested $15,000. The board also authorized the county’s annual joint participation agreement for the rural transit system, approving a $6,000 contribution for FY27.
The board approved a request from elections staff to shred 2024 primary voted materials now that the 22-month statutory retention period has passed. The elections office earlier filed a post-election hand-count audit with the Secretary of State’s office confirming the audited precinct totals matched the machine counts for the selected offices.
The meeting also included a brief approval to place a 36-foot tree on the courthouse lawn, and multiple routine updates from county staff about storm cleanup and county operations. The board adjourned at 9 a.m.
