Bridgeport — The Bridgeport City Council approved multiple ordinances and a budget revision at its June 8 meeting, passing two property purchases on final readings, adopting the fiscal year 2026–27 salary ordinance and approving general fund budget revision No. 10 for FY25–26.
The council voted, by voice and roll-call where required, to complete the second and final reading of an ordinance authorizing purchase of real property from Freda Wilson located on Main Street and a separate ordinance to purchase unimproved property abutting Compton Park. Both motions were moved, seconded and carried on voice votes.
The council also approved the second and final reading of the FY26–27 salary ordinance. Staff said the only substantive changes were minor title reorganizations among library positions; no new salary totals beyond those in the received document were introduced during discussion.
On a roll-call vote, members adopted general fund budget revision No. 10 for fiscal year 2025–26. Staff said the revision reallocates funds to address several designated projects and line items; the motion passed by recorded vote.
The meeting included a mix of informational reports and presentations but the formal actions above represent the primary policy outcomes of the evening. Next procedural steps for the property purchases and the salary ordinance are administrative recording and execution as required by city practice.
