Planning staff announces resignation effective July 2; commission expresses appreciation

A staff member for the City of Denison’s planning group announced at the June 9 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting that they have submitted a resignation to the city, effective July 2, and said they will move to the private sector.

In the staff update, the staff member thanked commissioners and colleagues for their support and said the team has been “fantastic.” The staff member added, “I have submitted my resignation to the city to be effective July 2nd … I’ll be going to the private sector and … if it doesn't go well, I’ll be coming back.”

A commissioner responded by praising the departing staff member and referenced that “Bobby” had hired “Mary” from Pennsylvania as an incoming staff member, saying the panel would likely be satisfied with the transition. No personnel timeline beyond the July 2 effective date or additional transition details were recorded in the public transcript.
