The Stow City Urban Forestry Commission confirmed it will staff three AMP pop-up events this season — June 30, Aug. 19 and Oct. 7 — and agreed to keep the June 30 presence simple, focusing on a craft activity and information distribution.
The visitor who introduced herself as the AMP coordinator, Brianna Lley, said she will support the pop-ups after starting July 18: "I'm the new coordinator for the AMP." Commissioners discussed logistics including setup time, with a 5:30 p.m. arrival suggested to help with tent and table setup.
Commissioners decided to bring flyers and a large laminated QR code linking to the commission's online sign-up for tree-sponsorship and cost-share information. "Bob already submitted for Urban Forestry to be a part of the three dates," a member said, signaling the city request form had been filed and the commission’s participation was confirmed.
Giveaways will be modest — chip clips, magnets, pens, decals and water bottles — and the commission agreed to prioritize two informational handouts at the June event: a big-tree contest flyer and a sheet explaining the online sponsorship/cost-share sign-up. The commission opted against a large activity presence for the first event, reserving more elaborate outreach for August or October.
Members also noted coordination with other city commissions at the pop-ups and discussed where to stage materials, storage and pickup. The commission will laminate a large QR-code board for table use and circulate pickup responsibilities among members.
Next steps: finalize the June 30 table materials, confirm setup volunteers and circulate the contact and letterhead template the commission's communications staff (Tracy) requires for website posting.
