Caroline County adopts FY2027 operating and capital budgets, approves fee schedule

Caroline County commissioners voted to adopt the fiscal year 2027 operating and capital budgets and to approve an amendment to the county fee schedule during their June 9 meeting.

Daniel Fox, deputy administrator, presented resolutions 2026-010 and 2026-011 as a single package for final approval, saying the materials "encompass all of the requests and directions" staff had received. Commissioner Porter thanked staff for the work and noted the package "includes the tax decrease," adding she hoped it would help offset increases in property assessments.

Chair moved approval of the fee-schedule amendment (Resolution 2026-010) and the FY2027 budgets (Resolution 2026-011); motions were seconded and both were approved by voice vote. Commissioners did not record a roll-call tally in the public transcript for these votes.

The measures take effect according to normal administrative procedures for adopted budgets and fee schedules; staff indicated the package reflects previously discussed priorities and adjustments. The board immediately proceeded to other agenda items after the votes.
