The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors agreed June 8 on final selections for the courthouse window project and approved an interfund transfer to fund the work.
At the meeting county staff presented a sample provided by vendor Robert Riley and asked the board to pick blind color, interior wood finish and hardware finish. The board approved black blinds, an Early American interior wood tone and black hardware by motion (Travis moved, Steve seconded).
County staff then presented a revised interfund operating transfer resolution (Resolution 6826-40) scaled back from an earlier figure. The resolution authorizes an interfund transfer from the general/bond fund to the capital project fund for fiscal year 26–27, not to exceed approximately $800,000, for the courthouse window project. The board took a roll call vote; each supervisor voted yes and the resolution was adopted.
Supervisors discussed timeline expectations: delivery and installation were estimated in August–September, weather permitting. Staff said the city street department approved short-term use of two curbside parking spaces for a semi-trailer during installation, with orange cones and one stall positioned back from the corner to preserve sight lines.
Next steps: staff will finalize procurement paperwork, coordinate delivery and installation dates, and present any contract documents or additional appropriation requests as needed.
