The Southampton Town Trustees used much of the work session to review a string of diverse permit items and administrative matters.
David Phillips asked to rebuild an aged, flood-prone boat slip. He proposed widening the slip by roughly 4 feet, raising a low-sill bulkhead about 12 inches and revegetating former lawn to create a buffer. Trustees noted the slip’s invasive shore plants and asked for an on-site inspection before advancing the permit; the item was held pending further review.
Separately, an applicant for 31 Crest (a bridge over Davis Creek) sought to replace an existing structure with the same dimensions using non-treated wood and open-grade decking. Trustees said the work must wait until after piping plover nesting season (work not expected until September) and requested additional photos and debris removal plans; applicants reported having permits from other agencies and were asked to provide copies.
Staff and trustees also reviewed stamp-plan completeness for several files (28 Coral Drive, 20 Middle Pond Lane and a large set for 78 Ferry Road). Trustees asked that all pages in submitted plan sets be stamped and that the administrative summary box on the application form be completed; one packet was held until missing stamps were provided.
On waterfowl permit administration, staff (Shakira) said Andrew S. Duran will return to the wait list and that several attempts to contact permit-holder John (permit numbers 239 and 268) had failed; trustees directed more outreach (phone/text) and agreed to give applicants one final window to respond before reclaiming spots. A resolution to return Andrew Duran to the wait list was prepared for the 1:00 meeting.
Finally, trustees moved and seconded an item to close the application review portion of the work session; the motion passed by voice assent and the trustees concluded the session. No final permit approvals were issued during this meeting; multiple items were held pending follow-up materials, inspections or agency input.
