The Chief told the board the construction program faces tight deadlines: all invoices must be submitted by June 30 and most construction work has an internal completion target of June 12, though the biomix installation remains the primary sticking point for engineer sign-off and final approval (AOT).
“We have an end goal of, June 12 for all construction work other than, the BioNex, which is still still hanging out there,” the Chief said. He added the engineer will not sign off on AOT until the biomix is installed.
The Chief said the Department of Defense will conduct a walkthrough and inventory of the site on June 19; the inspector who performs that inventory is also expected to attend the open house on June 20. “The Department of Defense is coming out on June 19 to do a walk through of the site and inventory all equipment,” the Chief said.
He reported delivery issues with bricks (some shipments arrived broken) and a small roof leak that delayed interior work. Bay 4’s garage door has experienced repeated eye-alignment and electrical problems; the contractor is considering replacing the motor and assembly. Separately, a broken tube in the floor is under review by the plumbing engineer from Grama State Plumbing and Heating, which will advise whether repair or zoning out the zone is required.
The Chief emphasized contingency plans are in place, including a plan B for contractor sourcing if material or workmanship issues cannot be resolved quickly. He said the project team is working to complete critical items ahead of the inventory and open house.
