The council approved several advisory-board and committee appointments presented by staff:
- Planning & Zoning Board: reappoint Jeremiah Norberg (two-year term), appoint Jim Escu (two-year term) and appoint Heather Sweat (remainder of one-year term). Staff noted coordination with Cabaris County for the ETJ representative.
- Board of Adjustment: reappoint Michael Brandom and appoint Jera Robinson and Jason Gatis to three-year terms; ETJ-seat mechanics tie to the planning & zoning ETJ appointment.
- Parks & Recreation Advisory Board: reappoint Zack Bowman; appoint Monty Page, Caitlyn Thomas and Micah Cash to two-year terms; appoint Susie Schummaker as the sustainability ex officio member.
- Hatch (Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee): reappoint Dwayne Lot and Whitney Miller to two-year terms; two seats remain open and staff will continue recruitment.
All slate motions were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote during the meeting.
On capital projects, Assistant Chief Wooten requested authority to contract with Eagle Carports for construction of a new public-safety storage building behind Fire Station One to replace a rotting structure and to house equipment for both the fire department and the sheriff’s office. The project budget presented was approximately $102,000 (about $75,000 allocated to fire and $27,000 to the sheriff’s office). The council approved the contract and related budget ordinance amendments.
These actions put a number of vacancies and multi-year projects into their next phases; staff will follow up with formal appointment letters and contract execution.
