Commission approves preliminary subdivision consolidation and recommends small rezoning near 3100 North

The Pleasant View Planning Commission approved a preliminary subdivision consolidation and recommended a related rezoning to city council at its meeting.

Applicant Josh Garner requested consolidation of several adjacent parcels to combine agricultural and residential acreage into a single lot, with one small parcel to be added to an existing residential property. Staff requested several plat corrections and the inclusion of a temporary turnaround built to city standards; the applicant addressed the required changes on the submitted plat. Staff recommended approval of the preliminary subdivision after the corrections were made.

Because adding the agricultural parcel to the residential lot would create a split‑zoned parcel (A2 adjacent to RE15), the applicant requested rezoning of the parcel proposed to be added to RE15. The commission opened a public hearing on the rezoning, heard one public comment in favor, closed the hearing, and voted unanimously to recommend approval of the A2→RE15 rezoning to city council.

Outcomes: the commission approved the preliminary subdivision (motion passed by majority) and recommended the rezoning to city council (unanimous). Staff will finalize plat corrections and provide the record to the city council for final action on the rezoning.
