County approves new copier lease, allows treasurer to buy older machine and buys public-works pickup

Commissioners approved a new copier lease with a vendor that offers lower monthly payments and better service coverage, authorized the treasurer's office to purchase the county's older copier, and approved a $1,500 purchase of a used pickup for the public works department.

The clerk explained the current copier lease is expiring and presented quotes; Eekes was recommended because its lease payment would be lower and the company is expanding local service. "If you approve me to go with Eeks, it's actually less than what I'm currently paying," the clerk said.

The board then moved and seconded to lease a new machine from Eekes. Commissioners also approved a separate motion allowing the treasurer to purchase the existing copier from the clerk's office for continued county use, funded from motor-vehicle funds as proposed.

Public Works requested purchase of a used Chevrolet pickup from Oberlin for $1,500. The motion to buy the pickup passed by voice vote; staff said the department will coordinate delivery and notify the appropriate staff.

All actions were approved by voice vote with no roll-call tallies recorded in the transcript.
