City outlines Taylor Street drainage timeline; utility relocation and bidding next steps

City staff updated the council on several capital projects, highlighting progress on the Taylor Street drainage project and related procurement steps.

Staff (S3) said the Taylor Street drainage bid should open June 13 and that Duke Energy is standing by to perform required relocations. S3 added that consulting firm Kettlewood has multiple contractors reviewing plans, which staff hope will lower the overall bid amount.

S3 also provided brief updates on other projects: the Lisonbee dry project is complete, Ferguson Street drainage remains in engineering, and sidewalk installation engineering has begun; staff said construction for some projects will likely roll into early 2025.

No formal contract awards were made during the meeting; staff described schedule and procurement milestones for council awareness.
