At the March 27 buildings & grounds and referendum committee meeting, facilities staff said recently completed work on several referendum projects is in the administrative closeout phase and that contractors are preparing as-built drawings, warranties and maintenance bonds for district review and final sign-off.
Security and group-closeouts: Staff said security upgrades and several group projects are nearing completion; partial closeout documents have been submitted and punch-list items remain for HVAC controls and small mechanical items.
New projects and compliance: The district reported it is conducting a chemical-inventory update to comply with New Jersey's Worker and Community Right-to-Know requirements (the inventory report is due July 15) and that lead-water testing is underway with results expected by June 2025. Staff also described completed floor replacement work at High School South, a warehouse roof replacement, and active bid activity for Site 174 (Intermediate South) and Site 202 East (two bids received, award anticipated in May).
What happens next: Facilities staff said they will continue reviewing closeout documents with contractors and anticipate additional award activity for pending bids. No formal construction votes were taken during the committee meeting portion presented to the board.
