The Ocean City School District board held routine business and recorded several votes at its Feb. 24 meeting, while also confirming a timetable for the ongoing superintendent search.
At the outset, the board confirmed a quorum during roll call. A board member summarized the superintendent search schedule: the application window closes Monday the 23rd; screening is planned for the week of the 23rd; initial interviews the week of March 9 with second interviews March 23; and an anticipated hiring announcement in April, followed by negotiations.
The board voted on a package of resolutions for the full board and separately on Ocean City representatives' resolutions. The roll-call vote on the full-board resolutions recorded multiple 'yes' votes; two members abstained from certain items. Specifically, Dr. Mallister announced an abstention on two items (identified in the meeting as I1, check number cited as '2032000', and item I4). Mr. Barnes also announced an abstention on item I1 (check number cited as '203208'). The Ocean City representatives' roll-call vote recorded unanimous 'yes' votes among those present.
The board also moved to approve minutes for the Jan. 22 regular and executive sessions; several trustees abstained from the executive-session approval as recorded on the roll call.
No further business was brought forward and the meeting adjourned.
