During the budget presentation, college officials reported that the campus’s high-voltage electrical infrastructure upgrade—two years in the making—has been completed for the bulk of the work and was delivered on schedule and on budget. The presenter described the work as the most complicated portion of the project, with just a few finishing touches remaining.
Officials noted an operational side effect: the electrical work damaged an in-road traffic-light sensor on Bay Road. In the interim, the light is being run on a timer while a new sensor is ordered and scheduled for installation in mid-July. Presenters said the replacement will restore the sensor-based timing and reduce local traffic inconvenience.
The committee was informed these infrastructure improvements and the traffic-light repair were included in project updates and that the college will notify constituents about the expected mid-July repair date.
