Several administrative and service items were presented to the commission during the June 4 work session.
LegacyLink: Donald Johnson, senior services director, presented FY26 LegacyLink contract addendum No. 2 asking for a $2,996 increase to support the county’s home‑delivered meal program. Johnson said the board voted on addendum No. 1 roughly two months earlier and that extension or expansion would likely move forward at the June 18 meeting.
Staffing: County manager Joy Lehi proposed consolidating two part‑time administrative clerk positions by eliminating one vacancy and converting the filled part‑time post into a full‑time administrative clerk (position control change). Lehi said funding exists and that the full‑time post would be eligible for benefits; she noted any permanent additional staffing requests would be handled in future budget cycles.
Manager remarks on crash: Lehi also offered condolences and read excerpts from an incident report after a helicopter crash on May 29–30, praised local fire, EMS and law enforcement personnel for their response, and thanked neighboring Cherokee County for mutual‑aid assistance.
What’s next: the LegacyLink addendum and staffing changes were presented for consideration and will appear on future agenda items for formal action; the county manager’s remarks were informational and no vote was taken on the crash response.
