The Extension, Education & Economic Development Committee approved routine business and three committee motions during its meeting. Supervisor Krems moved and Supervisor Hagen seconded approval of the May 7, 2026 meeting minutes; the motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
Administrator Leonard presented a draft resolution and supporting agreement to continue Marathon County's membership in the North Central workforce development consortium (counties named in the packet include Adams, Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida, Portage, Wood, and Vilas). After questions about funding, audit access and potential liability for misuse of WIOA funds, Supervisor Krems moved to approve the workforce consortium resolution, Supervisor Hagen seconded, and the committee approved the resolution unanimously.
Before adjournment, Supervisor Seefeldt made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Supervisor Krems; the committee voted 'aye' and the meeting ended. No ordinances, budget adoptions, or appointments were taken at this session beyond the items noted above. The workforce consortium resolution and the minutes will move forward in committee records and to the full board as required.
