Town Manager David Porter reported multiple personnel updates during his manager’s report. He said the Animal Control Officer resigned effective Dec. 31, 2025, and recommended regionalizing that function similar to the town’s regionalized Building Official. Porter said the town will apply for a grant through the Capitol Regional Council of Governments (CCROG) in February to cover part of the cost; previous similar grants took about 90 days for approval.
Porter also said the town has identified a candidate for a regionalized Finance Director who would be in Town Hall approximately one day per week; the town intends to apply for RPIP grant funds to partially cover initial costs for the first three years. Porter reported he has interviewed a candidate for a part-time constable and anticipates filling that position in the coming months.
Porter added that the town audit for FY23–24 was completed in October 2025 and that the FY24–25 audit is in progress.
