Jason Pulos, a Democratic candidate for Massachusetts' 4th Congressional District, used an appearance on Around Foxborough to discuss how national policy connects to local concerns in Foxborough and to describe immediate campaign needs.
On housing, Pulos said the high cost of homes affects both younger first-time buyers and long-term residents aiming to stay in town. "One one thing that's uh a major issue in Fox Row and also a lot of different communities in the district is the issue of housing. It's too expensive," he said, and proposed federal measures including restrictions on hedge-fund ownership of single-family homes and greater federal construction of social or public housing, citing examples in Vienna and Singapore.
Pulos also addressed the expected World Cup events, saying the tournament will be a financial windfall for hotels and some businesses but urging that residents benefit and that traffic and safety be managed. He praised local public-safety officials and credited state legislators with helping resolve administrative delays tied to federal funding.
Turning to his campaign, Pulos said his team relies on grassroots volunteers and online organizing: he reported about 120 volunteers signed up and over 90 active contributors on a campaign Discord server, and asked listeners to volunteer for door-knocking and voter-expansion efforts.
Pulos noted practical limits on campaign outreach at civic events: while he said he hopes to attend Foxborough's Founders Day, he acknowledged political campaigns cannot reserve vendor tables at the event because organizers limit spaces to nonprofits.
The interview combined national policy argumentation with local priorities and concluded with a request for volunteers ahead of the Sept. 1 Democratic primary.
