The town planning commission was notified that petition PC06 (032026-01), filed in relation to alleged commercial activity on property owned by Pete Batar, was formally withdrawn by Mr. Batar through counsel on Tuesday, June 2.
The commission chair said the town is working with its legal team and that staff believes the commercial activity on the property has ceased. The chair told residents that any evidence of ongoing business operations (deliveries, multiple vehicles, visible packaging or other operational signs) should be provided to planning staff so it can be followed up.
Planning staff confirmed the town has issued a cease-and-desist letter to Mr. Batar. Staff also said that resident letters and demonstrator communications about the matter were distributed to commission members and the town attorney and have been made part of the official record. Because the petition was withdrawn, the chair said the public hearing on that petition would not be heard that evening.
Resident Alice Mccralin asked whether a meeting with Mr. Batar earlier that day could be shared publicly; town staff responded that the meeting with council and legal counsel was a settlement discussion and therefore not available for public disclosure at this time. Staff offered to accept letters and photos into the planning department the following day to be added to the record.
No formal action was taken by the commission on PC06 during the meeting.
