Board approves negotiated agreement; union representative says membership is pleased

The Bedford City Schools Board of Education voted to accept a negotiated agreement reached between district representatives and the teachers’ bargaining unit.

Board members praised the collaborative negotiations and thanked both district and BEA representatives for productive discussions. A BEA representative addressed the board, saying the union’s membership was "extremely pleased" the parties were able to reach a deal after a lengthy period without an agreement.

Board members also publicly thanked Mr. Evans and district negotiating team members for their participation in the process. The motion to accept the negotiated agreement was moved by Morton, seconded by Calendarer, and approved on a roll call vote (4–0).

Following the vote, the board continued with routine agenda business.
