Deputy Superintendent Chace Ramey presented a high-level leadership organizational chart at the Board’s June 2 special meeting and described it as a provisional view of the Central Office as of July 1. Ramey said the interim superintendent, once in place, would have an opportunity to revise the chart.
Directors sought clarification about the chart’s dotted lines and color coding and asked staff to make the reporting relationships clearer; Ramey explained dotted lines indicate day‑to‑day supervision by the deputy superintendent while some executive roles would formally report to the superintendent. Directors also requested that the Board and the community be shown at the top of the chart and asked that staff post the chart with names once hires are finalized.
Board members raised questions about combining Chief Human Resources duties with the deputy superintendent role. Ramey said the consolidation was a cost‑reduction choice and noted many districts combine those functions; the Board requested the RFP‑commissioned analysis include best‑practice comparisons and historical org‑chart iterations to show how the Central Office has changed over time.
Separately, the Board reviewed and unanimously approved an interim superintendent search agreement listed at $5,910.40. Directors discussed the firm’s role (identifying candidates and providing recommendations) and set a compressed interview schedule: screening interviews the week of June 15 with formal interviews the following week.
Next steps
Staff will post updated charts with names once administrative hires are complete, issue the external organizational‑analysis RFP and proceed with the contracted interim superintendent search firm’s timeline.
