The principal reported the school's staffing lineup for next year and several end-of-year logistics.
The principal said the district currently has 34 students enrolled in kindergarten, with two additional cases still uncertain, and reviewed teacher assignments from preschool through eighth grade. Named positions and assignments included (as read at the meeting) preschool and kindergarten teachers, grade-level classroom teachers up to eighth grade, special-education staff, a new Spanish teacher, physical education and health staff, art, STEM, music and library staff, and a part-time office assistant position to be advertised beginning July 1. The district also confirmed a grant to continue a SAP coordinator position.
The board heard dates and events for the close of the school year: an Evening of Gratitude is scheduled for June 8, eighth-grade graduation will be held June 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the gymnasium, and the final student day is June 15, a half day.
The principal's report included a request for the board’s consent to allow hiring over the summer if resignations occur; the chair and board members indicated general support for delegating authority to address summer staffing vacancies.
The meeting closed this item without contested motions or changes to the staffing list presented.
