Wrightwood board adopts five‑year strategic plan, sets initial timeline for community planning bridge

The Wrightwood Community Services District board adopted a five‑year strategic plan on June 2, 2026, approving revised timeframes and asking staff to refine language for a proposed community planning bridge intended to coordinate multi‑group projects in town.

Interim General Manager Angela summarized changes to the draft plan and said most items were shifted to realistic fiscal‑year targets. The board discussed one item — described in the plan as a “community planning bridge” — and asked staff to clarify how the district will convene and coordinate stakeholders for multi‑agency projects such as downtown improvements or sewer planning.

President Shaer and other board members agreed to set a practical target for formalizing the bridge. The board amended the proposal so the planning bridge’s initial completion target will be June 2027, with a plan to revisit its details in October 2026.

Legal counsel Steve emphasized the value of keeping an administrative record as the district implements policy, both to protect the district legally and to document progress and funding decisions.

The board adopted the strategic plan and directed staff to return with more specific language and an implementation schedule for the community planning bridge at the October review.
