House Transportation Committee adopts FY2027 views and estimates

The Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure adopted its fiscal year 2027 views and estimates by voice vote during an administrative meeting, with the chair and members pointing to a busy legislative session and urging continued bipartisan work.

The chair summarized the committee's activity in the 119th Congress, saying the panel "has been busy and productive" and noting "49 hearings and round tables, reported 53 bills out of committee, and 46 bills referred to the committee have been approved by the House." The chair cited recent committee work on the BUILD Act (also called the Building America 250 Act), saying it would advance highways and railroads and contain "the largest investment in bridges in the history of the United States." The chair urged colleagues to support the FY2027 views and estimates.

Committee member Rick thanked the chair and said the views and estimates reflect a desire to continue bipartisan work, including enactment of the ALERT Act and the Build America 250 Act, passage of a Water Resources Development Act and oversight of air traffic control modernization. "We've had a productive session so far... I yield back," Rick said.

With no amendments offered, the committee adopted the views and estimates and, pursuant to House Rule 10, clause 4, ordered the document submitted to the House Committee on Budget. The committee's voice vote registered the ayes as prevailing.
