Superintendent Jason Stone presented two repair options from Calcar Paving for the street in front of the event center: a 2-inch mill-and-surface patch (estimated $6,760.30) or a full‑depth mill-and-patch removing roughly 5 inches and replacing binder (estimated $11,932.60). Board members said the full-depth option makes more sense where truck traffic has damaged the surface and when a short-term fix would not last until federally funded reconstruction begins in 2029.
After questions about life expectancy, subs and scheduling, a board member moved to approve option two (full-depth mill and patch); the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition. Superintendent Stone said he would pass the work to Calcar Paving and ask the contractor to schedule the work as soon as practical.
The board noted the estimate covers labor and materials but that bid prices may rise when restricted work windows (to avoid major events) and special time constraints are included in formal procurement.
