Cochise County schedules executive session on proposed settlement in Ramsey Canyon Inn case

The Cochise County Board of Supervisors announced a special executive session for Monday, June 8 at 1 p.m. to discuss a proposed settlement agreement and final judgment in Cochise County v. Ramsey Canyon Inn. The scheduling followed a short discussion about timing and public notice around a separate upcoming agenda item related to the matter.

Board members noted the court dismissal date currently on the calendar (late June) and said that if the board does not approve a settlement, staff will alert the court and keep the case open. County staff and counsel were identified as preparing materials for the executive session, which is a closed-door meeting permitted for legal strategy and settlement discussion.

The board also discussed scheduling options to accommodate members and public participation via Teams or Zoom. No settlement terms were discussed in open session and no vote was taken; the item was scheduled for executive session.
