City reports new equipment, drainage work and upcoming audits; filing window announced

City Manager Daniel Jackson reported to the Dimmitt City Council on several municipal operations items Jan. 19. He said the city has taken delivery of a new John Deere tractor and expects a shredder to arrive soon. Public works personnel added dirt to a pad to mitigate a steep drop on the north end, using material from drainage cleanouts; fence and light installation for the project was planned to follow.

Jackson also said auditors are scheduled to arrive later in the week. He reminded the council that applications for the District 1–4 council seats are available and that the deadline to file with the city secretary is Feb. 13, 2026.

These updates were presented as part of the city manager’s routine report; no separate council action was recorded for these items on Jan. 19.
