The Gates Town Board on Jan. 5 adopted a series of personnel and board-appointment resolutions, moving members between permanent and alternate seats on the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Planning Board and approving library board appointments.
By Resolution 37-26 (motion by Councilman Lee A. Cordero; second by Councilman Christopher B. DiPonzio), the board revised Zoning Board of Appeals membership, moving Steve Zimmer from a permanent member seat to an alternate member seat and promoting Roger Thaine Jr. from alternate to permanent member. Resolution 38-26 (motion by Supervisor Cosmo A. Giunta; second by Councilman DiPonzio) made similar revisions to the Planning Board by moving Juan Ruiz from permanent member to alternate and appointing Denise Cambisi to a permanent seat.
The board re-appointed Wendy Heffer and Cathy Rappazzo to five-year terms on the Gates Library Board of Trustees through Dec. 31, 2030 under Resolution 39-26, and appointed Susan Melia to fill the unexpired term of Amanda McGinnis through Dec. 31, 2029 under Resolution 40-26. Councilman Andrew M. Loughlin thanked the library board for its volunteer service and noted the interview process for the new trustee.
Each resolution passed unanimously with all five board members voting aye. The personnel moves will be reflected in the respective board rosters and terms as recorded by the Town Clerk.
