The Northumberland County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine agenda items and contract ratifications during its public meeting.
Among the actions the board approved were dispensing with the reading of minutes from the May 5, 2026 meeting; payment of county and liquid fuels bills covering May 2–May 29, 2026; and payroll disbursements for payroll number 10 ($750,844.74) and payroll number 11 ($753,723.43 as recorded on the transcript). Commissioners also approved departmental reports including the coal royalty report, tax claims bureau report, and monthly fiscal status reports for April 2026.
The board voted to reallocate $46,300 of FY2025 CDBG funds from the Marian Heights stormwater improvement project to the Hearnenboroough Jackson Township Joint Municipal Authority (HBJTJMA) wastewater treatment plant for generators. The commissioners ratified the FY2025 Emergency Preparedness Performance Grant (EMPG) agreement for the public safety department and authorized a countywide commodity flow study with MCM Consulting on behalf of public safety.
Other approvals included a planned service agreement with Johnson Controls for the Simplex 4100 ES fire alarm panel at the Northumberland County Courthouse (June 1, 2026–May 31, 2031); a copier maintenance and financing agreement with TOPP Business Solutions and First Citizens Bank for a copier (model MZ3501CI) at $155.74 per month for 60 months; engagement of Clay and Associates for auditing services for the year ending Dec. 31, 2025, at $17,000; and approval of invoice number 888 from New Hope Merchants LLC for career center flooring (amount as stated in transcript contains formatting ambiguity). The board also authorized the purchase of a right-of-way and temporary easement for county Bridge No. 192 T-696 in Rockefeller Township and ratified a deed of easement involving the City of Sunbury municipal authority.
Solicitor Mr. Rovido requested and the board approved adoption of resolution R116-26, pertaining to agreements and service-provider items listed in paragraphs 1–28 for human, senior and social services. Weatherization-contract addenda for 2026–2027 with More Renovations LLC, Boyer QCI LLC, FTQ Services LLC and Green Kite Inc. were authorized, and Pamela M. Stank was designated as a signatory on related training and technical-assistance agreements.
