Consultant delivers 50% of updated historic survey; board asks property owners to review online

The Aiken City Design Review Board received an update on June 2 from staff that consulting firm WLA Studio has submitted 50% of the updated historic resource survey cards. Staff said the partial submission is posted online (a QR code and a webpage were provided on meeting slides) and urged property owners to review proposed designation categories for their properties.

Staff warned that some properties may see a change in designation category through the update and said the complete set of survey materials will be submitted by the end of September. The board indicated the information posted responded to requests made at a prior work session.

What happens next: staff will continue the review process with WLA Studio and will inform owners if their properties are listed or re-categorized when the final survey is posted later this year.
