Commissioners deny two records-fee waivers and back NACo resolutions

At the June 2 administrative meeting, staff brought two fee-waiver requests for public-records requests related to sheriff's-office records. Staff quoted costs to fulfill the requests (one estimate shown in the record as $1,312.40 and a second amount reported in the transcript as $13,124). Commissioners stated the requests did not meet their standard for public-interest waivers and indicated they would not waive the fees.

Later in the meeting a commissioner moved that Klamath County support two resolutions prepared for the National Association of Counties concerning ESA and Gable (as provided to the board). The motion was seconded, commissioners signified assent verbally, the chair recorded the affirmative vote and the motion passed. The board adjourned at 3:32 p.m.

The board did not take further formal action on procurement items at this meeting; staff will return contract documentation and memos to a future business meeting for formal consideration.
