During public comment, resident Bo Hast asked the Bradford County Board of County Commissioners to account for $744,588 shown as funding for Keystone Heights airport road connectivity and questioned whether the money was spent or still available for the project.
"So, where is that 744,000?" Hast asked the board, noting the funding appeared on a document and saying the amount predated the current budget year by two months. He urged clarity about whether the funds have been expended, transferred, or remain designated for airport connectivity.
Other residents raised broader development concerns tied to the airport and nearby lands. Christopher Amos, who identified himself as a pilot and former military member, warned that proposed development could convert roughly 700 acres into an industrial site with large outside investment and said that would risk cultural and environmental change. "We're talking about a 700 acre industrial area with ultimately $10 billion of investment funneling in this," he said.
A different resident urged the board to act proactively and consider a moratorium on data-center construction, citing actions by neighboring counties and saying citizens oppose data centers. That commenter recommended a county moratorium to allow planning before projects start.
Board response and next steps: Commissioners acknowledged the public comments; the transcript records requests from the public for an accounting of the Keystone connectivity funds but does not include a detailed county response or an immediate commitment to a moratorium. The board did not vote on placing restrictions during the meeting.
