The Beloit School District board unanimously approved revised academic calendars for the 2026–27 and 2027–28 school years after staff corrected typographical errors and clarified coding for teacher work days.
Jeff Stenrews explained that a reporting‑period date on the 2026–27 calendar had been listed incorrectly (report‑card preparation was dated before the quarter ended) and that several conference dates needed to move by one week; those dates were corrected. He also explained that a Friday in the August teacher in‑service week and the final teacher day in June had been mistakenly coded as student days; under the contract those days are teacher work days and the color coding was fixed. Stenrews said the changes did not affect the number of student instructional days.
Dr. Anderson acknowledged he had directed one of the earlier changes based on practice in other districts and that staff had corrected the calendar after reviewing the employee handbook. Dan Shu moved approval; the motion carried unanimously.
Board members asked for clarity on calendar color coding and any resulting impacts on contractual days; administration said the corrections were to coding and not to the total student days in session.
