Bay County commissioners approve routine items, receive reports and congratulate local athlete

The Bay County Board of Commissioners, meeting as the Committee of the Whole on June 2, approved routine agenda items, received several reports, and made minor procurement and service approvals.

The board approved the meeting agenda and the May 12, 2026 minutes by voice vote. The board also moved to receive the analysis of general fund equity for 2025–2026 and an update regarding Executive Directive 2007-11; both motions carried with no discussion. General payables were approved and the Office of Assigned Counsel April 2026 report was received.

A motion to purchase additional waste and recycling collection services for the new Bay County Health Services Building was approved; a commissioner commented positively that recycling was included. The Chair asked whether a closed session was needed and Amber (staff) replied, "There's not, Mr. Chair." Commissioners also congratulated Seth Bets of Garber for breaking a county mile record with a reported time of 4 minutes, 16 seconds.

There were no members of the public who spoke during the public comment period. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn carried by voice vote.
