Grant County schedules second reading of FY2026-27 budget for June 23 meeting

A resident’s question at the June 2 Grant County Fiscal Court meeting prompted the court to set the second reading of the FY2026-27 budget for June 23, 2026.

Resident Debbie Angel asked whether the court had completed the second reading of the budget. Court staff replied that the budget had just been returned by the Kentucky Department of Local Government and that the second reading will be advertised and held at the court’s next meeting on June 23, 2026, meeting the state’s required advertisement window.

The court announced the June 23 meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the courtroom and that the agenda will include the second reading of the budget along with transfers and claims. No formal vote on the budget was taken at the June 2 meeting; the June 23 session will carry the procedural steps needed to finalize adoption.
