Representatives from the appraiser’s office briefed the Osage County Commission on parcel counts, assessed values and certification timing on June 2.
Appraiser staff said the county has 12,622 parcels at year-end. They reported assessed values increased from the prior year and read a 2026 assessed-value figure aloud (spoken as roughly $185 million during the presentation). The staff explained they prepare letters for personal property, real estate and oil-and-gas certification and will include the incoming county clerk on certification materials once the clerk’s appointment is finalized.
The appraiser’s office referenced the statutory certification deadline (they said "by statute we have to certify by the first") and described how splits and combinations arriving after certification will be entered into the next year (2027) with appropriate forms so affected taxpayers receive correct tax statements in December. Staff also noted continuing training and certification steps for office personnel.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about parcel splits and the timing of data delivery to cities, schools and other taxing entities. Staff said they have sent city values on request and will provide school valuation data as budget season approaches.
