Cottage Grove CVB approves balanced preliminary 2027 budget

The Cottage Grove Convention and Visitors Bureau voted to approve its preliminary budget for 2027 during the June 2 meeting.

Phil presented the budget assumptions and revenues, telling the board the lodging-tax projection for 2027 — based on a 63% occupancy assumption — is $71,550. Other revenue line items included $4,500 for visitor-guide ad sales and $23,900 projected for the Food Truck Festival. On the expense side, staff said marketing and operating lines were reviewed and efficiencies were sought; Phil reported the preliminary budget is balanced.

A motion to approve the preliminary 2027 budget was made and seconded; the board voted in favor and the motion carried by voice vote. No roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting transcript.

The board and staff noted the figures are preliminary and subject to adjustment during the city budgeting process; staff will return with final numbers and any changes later in the budget cycle.
