The Warner Robins City Council on June 1 approved a resolution authorizing Mayor Loranda W. Patrick to execute an energy and construction services contract with Schneider Electric Buildings Americas (ESCO) not to exceed $2,684,513.
Councilman Lashley moved to approve the contract, saying the projects are intended to improve energy efficiency across multiple city facilities. Councilman Curtis seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
City staff said the work includes lighting retrofits and envelope improvements at two utility facilities and the main public works building, and that the energy efficiency measures are projected to generate operational savings (staff cited an example projection of about $55,000 per year). Representatives from Schneider were present and available for technical questions.
The contract is a multi‑project construction addendum designed to pair capital upgrades with long‑term operational savings. The resolution authorizes the mayor to execute the agreement and tasks city finance and project managers with contract administration and oversight.
What happens next: Staff will bring contract documents for signature and begin implementation and coordination with Schneider Electric; detailed project scopes and schedules will be available in the project packet on the city website.
