Chelsea council declares Highway 280 lot surplus and approves $300,000 sale

The Chelsea City Council voted unanimously on June 2 to declare a city-owned parcel at 14547 Highway 280 surplus and to authorize its sale under a $300,000 contract.

Council suspended the rules to consider Ordinance 10-48 immediately; the motion to suspend and the ordinance itself were approved by roll call. Mayor (speaker 8) described the property as city-owned, adjacent to an off-road store and in front of an ABC Wholesale building, and estimated the lot size at approximately 1.09 acres.

Mayor (speaker 8) said the sales contract is for $300,000. There was no recorded opposition during the meeting and council proceeded with the roll call that recorded unanimous support.

The council did not detail closing timelines or contingencies at the meeting; city staff will complete the necessary transactional and administrative steps following ordinance adoption.
